Rosie, Leafers and Pawpaw

Most of my stories have a song that supports the story, but not always. You can listen to the full song written and composed by me to accompany Rosie, Leafers and Pawpaw here.

Rosie, Leafers and PawPaw (picture book for ages 5-10) written by singingsuebee with beautiful, multi-dimensional illustrations by Marie Sabatino Goodwin, original song written and performed by singingsuebee.  Leafers, the dog featured in the book, is also available for sale to hold and cuddle by special order (each is made by hand, with love).

This story is about about a young girl, Rosie, who learns from her mama that her grandfather ‘PawPaw’ who lives with them is gone one morning.  PawPaw used to rescue lots of animals throughout his life.  “Mama, where did PawPaw go?  Why did he have to leave…?”  “Is he coming back?” Children want to know what happens when someone just disappears from their life. Death and Dying is a big subject, but it doesn’t have to be scary, as it is just another part of life. What makes Rosie, Leafers & PawPaw slightly different is what happens to PawPaw after he leaves and how Rosie processes this information. It is a thoughtful book to start a conversation with. It is completely non-religious in its spiritual approach that energy doesn’t die, and people never stop loving one another.
